The Cavern
- Drape one or more blankets, sheets, or towels over chairs or tables to make a fun cavern. Small children (and even some bigger ones) really enjoy making these special, somewhat mysterious places to play and hide.
- Inside the cavern you can do lots of fun things:
- Read a story
- Pretend to be a lion, tiger, mouse, dog, rabbit or any other animal that sounds like fun.
- Make a bed or other furniture out of pillows, blankets, or boxes.
- While inside the cavern is a great time to experience the relationship of a floor to a ceiling or of walls to floors, etc. Use lots of words to help your child understand these concepts.
- Eat a snack.
