    Popcorn

  1. First, look at some kernels of popcorn. Talk about how small, smooth, round and cold they are. How do the kernels taste? (Yuck)
  2. Then, spread a large, clean sheet over the floor.
  3. Pop come popcorn in a hot air popcorn machine with the lid off. Reach behind, next to, in front of, beside, etc. to find some popped corn. Smell the popping corn, hear the pops, taste the popped corn. (Yum!) How is the popped corn different from the kernels?
  4. Then, glue kernels and popped corn to paper or old, cut-up cereal boxes (they're sturdier than paper). Give to Dad to take to work and show off to all his friends!
